It is with deepest sorrow to learn of the loss of your dear son. We are long-time customers and feel like extended family. Our son, Nicholas has been coming to Zorba's since a baby and our daughter was practically born at Zorba's. We know the spirit of your son's laugh and smile will continue to welcome your customers and friends. Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with you, Adrianne, Joe, Nicholas and Victoria Petruska

Our hearts are broken. If we ever thought that for even one split second that we knew true sorrow before you were gone, we were so very wrong.

We have known Dimitri through Deanna and Jimmy since our children were little. Katie and Thomas played with Anna and Paul and Dimitri was always in the middle of any activities. It was a contest between Paul and Dimitri as to which one would get into the most mischief. Twenty years have passed since those days and one always remembers Dimitri. He had such a fun loving attitude. It is not surprising he became a wonderful young man pursuing his dreams in life. Our hearts go out to the Giatas family. Our problems seem trivial compared to your loss. Please know you and Dimitri are in our prayers

Dimitri,

I am saddened beyond words to hear of your passing. Even though it had been awhile since the last time we saw you, you were still in our thoughts. I know you were one of Jesse's best friends in high school and he loved you like a brother. He misses you so much! He was always hoping to just run into you and to be able to catch up and him tell you about our kids. As for me, I will probably miss your smile and laugh the most! I am so sorry for your family's loss and wish them the strength and courage to get through this difficult time.

With Love,

Paul and Sally,

It was with great sadness that we heard about Dimitri's passing. We along with everyone else that met Dimitri will always remember his beautiful smile. Zorbas is our favorite restaurant and we spend many a Friday nights with friends there. Dimitri's smile was as much a part of Zorbas as you both are. We will think of him everytime we walk through Zorba's doors. May God's grace be with you and your family.

Dimitri,
I remember babysitting you and your sister Loria and your brother Al when you were a little boy. As you grew into a handsome young man, I only ever knew you as smiling and happy and easy going and having fun with those around you. I know I have never attended a sadder funeral than yours and that is because you were deeply loved and cherished by countless people; people who came from all over, even as far away as Greece who knew you and who know your family. You will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew you. You will never be forgotten and you will forever be missed and loved.

To your parents Paul & Sally and Cindy & Carlos. To your sister and brother Loria & Al. To your grandmother, Mrs. Guiatas. To my sister, your Aunt Deanna & your Uncle Jimmy. To your cousins Anna & Paul. And To all of your other family members who I have never met:
Bob and I are sincerely sorry for the loss of Dimitri. We will all continue to keep his memory alive to our families for generations and we will all look forward to being reunited with Dimitri when it is our time to meet up with him again. With much love and sympathy,

To the Guiatas family: I did not know your son, but reading all the heartfelt comments here, I know he must have been a wonderful young man. I work with a friend of his and I seen the impact of loss he felt. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May God give you strength and peace. We do not understand why things happen, but we do know God has a purpose for ALL things.

Sincerely,
  Sharon (Fort Worth, TX)

You will be forever missed, most of all I will miss your beautiful smile. The last time I saw you the first thing out of your mouth was "I LOVE YOU, girl" followed by a really big hug and I said as I normally do, "I love you too, Boo-Boo!" It was almost as if you knew you would be getting your wings soon. It has been a pleasure knowing you. It gives me peace knowing that I have yet another angel watching over me.

To the family: God be with you, as I know this is a trying time. Although, we don't always understand God's plans, as believers we have to know that when we hear Him say "Well done, Thy good and faithful servant, come up and get your just reward", our work here on earth is done. Take comfort in knowing that Dimitri is now one of God angels.

I 'm sorry we never got the chance to meet while you were here on earth but, knowing your mom, my cousin, Cindy and you brother, my cousin, Al, I am sure and without a doubt that you were an amazing person. May you rest in peace and watch over your family, always. Until I get a chance to meet you in the good Lord's kingdom, may God bless you and your family, always.

Dimitri,

You were such a wonderful soul, still are and always will be. I never remember you not smiling; you always were. Your heart extended to those around you and your family. You personality will always touch us, everyone who you met and were dear to. Your presence will never be forgotten, as it filled every space you walked in with a sense of joy and excitement. You always knew how to make a situation from being bad and turn it around for good, even when others couldn’t. Outgoing, spontaneous, and caring, your heart was unique. Everything about you was special. Dimi, say hello to my mother and give her a big hug and kiss from me, and ask her to make you the same Tiropita she always made for us when you came to visit when we were younger.

You will live forever in my heart, prayers and thoughts.

With Love,

Fanitsa

To Dimitri: I'm so grateful to have so many memories of you, from the time we were little until now. Those I will cherish forever. I'll definitely miss your smile and that great big hug when I go to Zorba's or your parents house, but I know that you're looking down at all of us, smiling big, and thinking how great life is in heaven!

To the family: We love you all so very much. May God give you the strength to cope with your loss the best you can. May you find comfort in knowing that his soul rests in peace and that his memory will be eternal.
